Sega Master System 1

837-6067

The Master System Model 1 is Sega's 1986 8-bit console for Western markets, the larger toaster-style unit distinguished by its top-loading cartridge slot, front-facing Sega Card slot, and prominent Pause and Reset buttons on the top panel. Internally it runs a Zilog Z80A at 3.58 MHz paired with Sega's 315-5124 VDP (256x192, 64-colour palette) and an SN76489 PSG for sound, backed by 8 KB of work RAM and 16 KB of VRAM. There's no FM sound chip on the Western board (compared to Japanese Mark III). This is the M4 Power Base revision, stamped 837-6067 on the silkscreen.
